Something I find that a lot of people don't know about is role playing. I know almost everyone has heard of a RPG or something of the sort. It is simply writing, and "playing" as a character. You write responses with other people and in a way it is writing a book. Nothing is published, of course, it is simply for fun.
I have been working on one character for a certain forum, The Scarlet City. I find the plot very interesting, it includes werewolves and vampires, the pre-twilight sort. Click here to read the plot.
Anyway, to role play you must fill out an application for your character. I have created Cheyenne Elise to be my poor mortal stuck in the middle of this town. I am currently working on all of her history, personality, and everything that will make her who I want her to be. The following is her history. Jimmy is my friend, and when I had asked him for a possible name for Cheyenne's ex he wouldn't help, so I decided to stick him in there. (:
Cheyenne Elise Michaels was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia. Although she may not have gotten along very well with her parents, she did love them and they loved her. But now, Cheyenne wasn’t so sure how they were doing. Although as a child she dreamed of going to college and someday having an important job at the top of a company, yet to be named, when she graduated high school she blew off that dream.
Jimmy Li Zhou was both the reason Cheyenne had little contact with her parents, and he was also the reason she had given up her dream. It was one of those love-at-first-sight things. She had met him during her junior year in high school and couldn’t get over the initial feeling she got from being around him. After about three months of knowing each other they began to date, and within a year they were engaged. Neither of Cheyenne parents approved, and they made their opinions clear, but against their better judgment they allowed Cheyenne to continue seeing him. Although her parents tried to keep up a relationship with their daughter, it was made almost impossible when Cheyenne and Jimmy eloped.
Fargo, North Dakota became the newlyweds’ new home, and Cheyenne was overjoyed with her decision. There were a few regrets about leaving her friends and family behind, but they were all insignificant compared to the life she would have with her new husband. Things were going well for the couple, but the stress of married life was taking its toll on both of them.
Fargo, being a small town, offered a limited amount of employment. This, plus only having a high school diploma just added to the not-so-few problems of running off. With little income they were stuck in an old house, in two rooms. The rest of the house was occupied from the family they rented it from, but Cheyenne wasn’t complaining. She was married and out on her own, she had given up her dream and taken on a new one.
The first year of marriage for Cheyenne and Jimmy had both its up and downs, but one thing that was slowly becoming apparent was the fact that their love-at-first-sight wasn’t that. The feeling of lust can often be mistake for love, it is the reason so many childhood crushes develop into nothing more. But it was also the reason Cheyenne was married. It was the reason she didn’t speak to her parents anymore, and it was the reason she had given up on her schooling. And the lust mistaken for love faded even more, revealing the faults of their partner to both Cheyenne and Jimmy. So after two years of marriage a folder was laid down on the dinner table between the two, and both signed the papers ending their marriage.
Now the age of twenty-three Cheyenne Elise Michaels has moved to this city, a new start. She still doesn’t own her own home, but lives in a small apartment near the middle of the city. **
**I am still trying to end it.
